Alternatives to Suicide (Alt2Su) peer-led community-based groups centre mutual connection and meaning making around suicide distress, thoughts and experiences. They offer non-clinical spaces where people can be honest about their experiences without fear of forced treatment, other forms of coercion, or risk assessment that shuts conversation down.

Please note that our ARC group is coming to an end with the last group being held on Friday 26th of June. We thank our loyal facilitators who regularly have held the group at this venue over the last couple of years, and look forward to seeing what new groups emerge.

‘Inspired by’ Alt2Su groups are groups that use the Alt2Su approach for holding space, but have been adapted to suit particular communities. They may not look like other Alt2Su groups in Australia or around the world, but follow a similar ethos and use facilitators that have been trained in the Alt2Su approach.
