Our Response to COVID19
Lived Experience Leadership
We wish to acknowledge the significant impact that coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on people around the world. In our own community there is heightened emotion, uncertainty and confusion on what steps to take to look after ourselves and each other. These responses make sense.
Infection rates in South Australia remain low, however we will be taking steps to adhere to public health advice from the Australian and State Government to actively put in place measures to play our part in ‘flattening the curve’.
LELAN will be doing what we can to support voluntary ‘physical distancing’, whilst remaining socially connected. Staff inter- and intra-state travel as well as LELAN initiated face-to-face meetings, focus groups, co-design workshops, training sessions and communities of practice in the immediate future will be either postponed or move online using the Zoom Video Conferencing platform. People attending or registered for these gatherings will receive a separate email with information about how particular events are affected and all access details required over the next two days.
LELAN will continue operating from remote locations during this period so all usual means for connecting with Ellie and Tanya remain open.
The Australian Government has an updated website to support people’s access to reliably sourced information, including: ‘how to protect yourself and others’; ‘symptoms and when to get tested’; and ‘current status in Australia’. This can be accessed here.
This is an unprecedented time, we know how unsettling it may be for people in our community. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us via info@lelan.org.au or Ellie directly on 0422 888 157.
